Book Review: The Diary of a Wimpy Kid

This is the diary journal of middle school student Greg Heffley. According to Greg keeping a diary was his mother's idea and not his. He only agrees to write in it because "I figure later on when I'm rich and famous, I'll have better things to do then answer people's stupid questions all day long." Greg's journal follows him through his first year in middle school. He and his best friend Rowley are "undersized weaklings" amidst the "gorillas who have to shave twice a day" at their middle school. All Greg wants is to move up his popularity status which is "possibly 52nd or 53rd place this year." Greg's journey through his first year of middle school is funny and enjoyable to read, whether or not Greg actually learns from his mistakes.
